GPSCr2O3 is a modified sintered and high purity oxide creamic powder and Thermal Spray Powder especially used for laser engraved Anilox rolls for the printing industry. The coatings are metal free, dense and homogeneous and provide excellent wear resistance and chemical stability. In contrast to classical fused/crushed Cr2O3 powders, edges and corners are smoothed to enhance feeding behaviour and reduce injector wear.
It is suitable for all classical and all modern multi cathode plasma systems. Resulting coatings are of low porosity and of high hardness if the right combination of spray parameter and powder particle size is applied. Cr2O3 powder can be used for Thermal Spray Coating like Flame Spray Coating and plasma spray coating.
Chromium oxides produce the most chemically inert and wear resistant thermal spray coating of all the oxides. Typically, these materials are chosen for applications where a hard, wear resistant and chemically inert surface is needed. The coatings can be used at service temperatures of 540 °C (1000 °F) or higher.
